Meccan, 50 verses
In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
By those sent in succession
then by the storm, gusting
and by the spreaders, spreading
then by the separators, separating
then by those communicating a reminder
to excuse or to warn
that indeed what you are promised shall occur.
So when the stars are wiped out
and when the sky is split open
and when the mountains are powdered
and when the messengers' time is set (for testifying or for gathering),
for what day (all these) are appointed?
For the day of separation/decision.
And how would you know what the day of separation/decision is?
Woe to the deniers on that day.
Did We not destroy the earlier ones?
Then We make the later ones follow them (in destruction).
That is how We deal with the guilty ones.
Woe to the deniers on that day.
Did We not create you from despicable water?
Then We placed it in a safe quarter (the womb)
for a known period.
So We are able, and We are very capable.
Woe to the deniers on that day.
Did We not make the earth a holder
(for) living and dead?
And We placed towering mountains in it, and We gave you sweet fresh water to drink.
Woe to the deniers on that day.
(They will be told:) “Proceed to what you were denying,
proceed to shadow having three branches (of smoke)
that is not a shade and is of no use against the flame,
which indeed it shoots up sparks like towers
as if they were yellow camels.”
Woe to the deniers on that day.
This is a day that they do not speak
and it is not permitted for them to apologize.
Woe to the deniers on that day.
This is the day of separation/decision, We assemble you and the earlier ones.
So if you have a plot (trick), then plot it.
Woe to the deniers on that day.
Indeed those who are cautious (of God) are in shades and springs,
and fruits of whatever they desire.
Eat and drink joyfully for what you used to do.
Indeed that is how We reward the good doers.
Woe to the deniers on that day.
Eat and enjoy a little, you are indeed the guilty ones.
Woe to the deniers on that day.
And when they are told to bow down, they do not bow down.
Woe to the deniers on that day.
So in what saying do they believe after it (Quran)?
